Books that cross languages
A Targuma is the same book in another language, made with the author’s consent. Read the original and the Targuma side by side.
Chapter 1 of every book is free, side by side, no account needed.
What is a Targuma?
A Targuma is a book carried into another language by AI and published with its author’s consent.
Think of captions on a film. They are not the original, but they are how most of the world gets to watch it. A Targuma is that for books: not a human literary translation, but the whole book, readable now, beside the original.
The books
Each in its original language and as a Targuma. Chapter 1 of each is free.
How a Targuma is made
The same book in another language, in days instead of years.
The author uploads the original
We make it a proper ebook, in the language it was written in.
AI drafts the Targuma
The author reviews it beside the original and can change anything.
Published with the author’s consent
A Targuma goes out only when the author says yes. Every copy says it is a Targuma, and a corrected line reaches every reader.
Until then, everything works in your browser. Audio editions are coming.
Targuma is in open beta. Things will change, and we want to hear what to fix. Contact
